Glass Bands KANDO
The set of silicone bands KANDO for selected models of IKEA glasses. The bands
were designed with consideration for sensory sensations/impressions of the sense of touch, which is connected with natural movement of man’s hand fingers during consumption of different kinds of drinks. The form of the bands is matched to ergonomic grip of the glass letting it hold safely in the hand.

Each of the bands has a linear facture customized for specific kind of glass. The composition of each one was formed by following the natural shapes, indicated by anatomical possibilities of finger movements. By proper creation of the form, there is possibility of exploring the surface through designated lines, what creates a pretext for playing by moving the fingertips over the created paths on the form.
Project is focused on unconditional reflexes conducted by the need of exploring the space through our senses, as well as the inner desire of touching different kinds of factures what influences the basis of our well-being connected with stimuli and the way we feel them.
The KANDO bands are made of cast silicone. The wide range of colors is obtained thanks to tinging the silicone mass with pigments in mixing process. Thanks to that a various set can be produced which lets choice freely the tint of the band as well personalizing the glass in case of using a bigger amount at once, as during some kind of party.
